The Ages
The Five Ages of Recorded History
1. The Dragon Age
The oldest known era, remembered only in myth and stone. Dragons ruled the skies, and the first civilizations were shaped by primal magic and divine presence. Most knowledge of this age is lost, buried in ruin or distorted by legend.
2. The Elven Age
With the dragons in decline, the high elves rose to power and founded vast surface empires. Their capital, Aelindor, became the center of art, magic, and law. Beneath them, the drow of Zerathil thrived in the Underdark, guided by a long-forgotten twilight goddess. Over time, the high elves turned to conquest, enslaving the drow and harvesting their souls to achieve true immortality. The age ended in revolt, ruin, and the fall of Zerathil.
3. The Hollow Age
A time of silence, suffering, and collapse. The Frostblight swept across the land, wiping out entire human kingdoms. Magic faltered, faith faded, and the world entered a long stillness. What remained did so in isolation and fear.
4. The Glory Age
Following the Hollow Age, mortals began to rebuild. This was a time of ambition, conquest, and expanding empires. Cities rose, old magics returned, and legends were born. But beneath the triumphs lay pride and cruelty. Many believe the Glory Age planted the seeds of the world’s current turmoil.
5. The Demon Age (Current)
The present age, named for the return of fiends to the material plane. Seals have weakened, and demonic forces spread across the land. The age began with the unleashing of the Archdemon Lucifer in Solistair, and marked the new calendar convention.
Calendar Conventions
As of the fifth age, Demon's Age, the calendar convention is as follows:
B.C (Before Calamity)
A.D (After Demons)
The current year (at the time of writing this) is 15 A.D.
