Overview
Coming in a wide variety of colors and patterns, Glow Slugs are docile creatures often kept by sailors and costal residents as light sources. Glow Slugs are as easy to house as they are to feed, and their use as a easily sustainable light source is crucial for those who spend their time on the sea.
Ecology
Glow Slugs are slow moving, peaceful creatures who inhabit warm coastal reefs. They spend their days gently scooting along the shallow ocean floor, eating algae, sponges, and in some cases coral. At night they light up the ocean floor with the gentle blue glow of bioluminescence, turning an otherwise dull ocean scene into a picturesque view.
Glow Slugs are often collected by costal residents to be kept as pet or as sustainable sources of light. They can be kept in small spaces and fed with algae or sponges, making them very low maintinence. Sailors in particular use them due to their easy care level and their cost efficiency. Feeding lanterns with oil can be expensive, and pose a fire hazard for wooden ships, so those who live on the sea often opt to use Glow Slugs to light their ships in the evenings.
