The Healers Hall of Aetheria - Prompt #1 A building devoted to healing the sick.
The Healers Hall of Aetheria was the first permanent building built during the resettlement of Aetheria after the return from Terrearth and the long exile. The round, columned hall was built by High Lord Kaleth, the last Guardian of the High House of Adamos, for his infant daughter Asha who was prophesied to be a great healer.
The interior of the building has a central stairwell that climbs the core of the building around the lifts, an addition to Aetherian buildings by the Oracle Lady Daisy from Terrearth. In the basement is a large pharmacy of sorts for storing and making healing balms, potions, supplies, and modern surgical equipment. Healing potions of all types are made by the healers and often carried by many Aetherians to boost their unique ability to heal and even revive from a death-like state after massive traumatic injuries. The first and second floors are for visitors to stay close to ill family but can be used as patient rooms. The third floor is for less serious illnesses and injuries, patient visits and physical therapy rooms like a clinic.
The top four floors of the eight-story building are reserved for the most critical with an amazing view of the river surrounded Island the first settlement turned capital is built on The fourth floor has isolation rooms, labor and delivery rooms, a nursery, and two a surgery suites. All rooms are equipped with specialized beds that emit a frequency of light/energy that stimulates healing very similar to the one visible around healers using their magic. The ability to heal quickly and recover from ‘death’ in most cases means the Healers Hall is mostly a recovery ward for injured Aetherians. The fifth and sixth floor contains acute care rooms and specialized pools with large obsidian tanks for storing ‘Water of Light’, a specialized healing solution created by combining healing magic and oracle light magic in pure water to create a golden glowing, effervescent liquid that will partially heal any wound or reverse the effects of poisoning. When ‘Water of Light’ is distilled using a magical, life-glow powered flame such as the Flame of Aetheria, it thickens into something with the consistency of honey but is neither oily nor sticky. Used in a device called Oren’s Column of Gold, total immersion in concentrated Water of Light is the only known cure when one is ‘shadowed’. A state of being indwelled by an interdimensional Shadow being, or contaminated with the Dark energy or Dark Water, the liquid essence of evil, from the Shadow pocket dimension. Most who are contaminated or indwelled do not survive.
On the seventh floor are healing sarcophagi, specialized healing beds for the most traumatic of injuries or illnesses. These beds seal themselves around the patient. The occupant is immersed in Water of light and irradiated with healing light, repairing their bodies on a molecular level. It is a very slow process that takes years, sometimes decades, sometimes centuries, depending on the level of repair the body needs.
The roof of the building has a large landing pad for Crane Crafts and Peregrine Crafts to land in case of emergency but is mostly used as an outdoor lounge offering an amazing view of the impact crater, ring river, and the city's island from the eastern bluff falls to the sea on the west.
The Healers Hall of Aetheria and Aetherian Healers are available to all Aetherians and Humans of the Colonies without charge.

Purpose / Function

Aetherians have unique triple helix DNA and redundant organs. Their blood releases an enzyme to rapidly clot and turns into a gel to prevent them from bleeding out while super-stem cells repair their tissue. However, some wounds cannot be overcome by their natural healing. When they revive from their deathlike state, their body releases a separate enzyme to unclot their blood and one to reboot their nervous system as their primary heart restarts. The process of reviving is painful and aches for several days. Only immersion in Water of Light and a healing light treatment eases the pain. Decapitation, partial decapitation, or dismemberment cannot be cured by magic or technology and results in forever death.
The healing sarcophagi are specialized healing beds for the most traumatic of injuries or illnesses. These beds seal themselves around the patient. The occupant is immersed in Water of light and irradiated with healing light, repairing their bodies on a molecular level. It is a very slow process that takes years, sometimes decades, sometimes centuries, depending on the level of repair the body needs. These sarcophagi are also used for long space flights as the stasis field they create negates the need to eat, drink, or breathe while the patient is inside. During the 3000-year trip from Terrearth to Aetheria Prime, the beds began removing the Human DNA from Aetherians with human ancestry. The results of the transition back to carrying more Aetherian DNA than human has resulted in the ability to ‘revive’ that many Aetherians had lost by their people’s intermarrying with humans during the 20,000 year exile on Terrearth.
Some Aetherians have survived having organs cut out because the smaller secondary organs function until the missing part was replaced and they were put in a sarcophagi to finish healing. Lord Kaleth survived having the majority of the skin on the left side of his body burned off and damage to his muscles and other tissues on that side of his body after being thrown into a lava lake. He spent almost a thousand years in a healing Sarcophagus. His warrior magic and natural resistance to injury by impact or fire as a Guardian aided in his survival. The Healers do not recommend anyone who is not a Guardian with a high level of magic attempt to swim in lava.

Architecture
The stone chosen was a golden alabaster marble similar to the color generated when healing magic was used or manifested by the Presbyt and Healers who still carried the gift of being able to manipulate life-glow energies to restore those injured or sickened. The round, columned hall was built by High Lord Kaleth, the last Guardian of the High House of Adamos. The stones and enchanted glass of the building were sealed together on a molecular level, so the building is virtually indestructible. It is a building created to last fifty thousand years and represents a pillar of light and healing.
