Session 39: Suckers and Sailors

General Summary

- The Lads arrive at Krong in the evening, greeted by a guard and asking for where the Dockman's Dropoff is before entering the town - They reach the tavern and locate the man who gave them the big money opportunity bounty, Charles Fisher - He tells them about a man named Bill Cleaveman who insulted his family and made his job harder than it already is - Charles tells them that Bill recently inherited about 100GP worth of items from a deceased relative - Charles wants the Lads to make Bill gamble away his inheritance while he watches, saying the Lads can keep the money - The Lads agree and begin planning their scam - They leave the tavern and plan to have an arm wrestling contest to lure Bill into betting on Lambert, before Hettle comes in and 'surprisingly' beats Lambert - Vikivath takes Red's hat of disguise and disguises himself as a fancy man named Torren Glanbrow - He enters the tavern and convinces Bill that there's an up and coming arm wrestler coming to town and that he's going to be betting big money on him - When Lambert walks in, he challenges a patron to an arm wrestling contest, convincing several other patrons to bet on the challenge - Lambert wins, then one of the patrons who bet on Lambert attempts to beat him, failing - A guard then challenges Lambert but loses quickly - Finally, Hettle enters and challenges Lambert, causing most of the tavern, including Vikivath and Bill, to join in betting on Lambert while Glen is alone in betting on Hettle - The two act as though it is a tough match, before Hettle wins and stuns the entire tavern; Bill is mortified having lost his inheritance while Charles smirks with joy - The patrons that lost their money leave before the party also leaves to give Red his hat of disguise back - The party takes their winnings and heads to the Lakeside Inn for rooms - Hettle asks one of their bounty providers, an Elf, where to find diamond dust and about Evemora - The Elf laughs at the diamond dust request, but informs Hettle that there have been stories of murders happening in some of the towns in Evemora - The party heads to their rooms for a long rest - The party wakes and heads to the docks to scout for a boat to take to Voltracity - They find three merchant ships, each sailing to Dedgar, Watergate, and Miradale - They inquire about a 'Personal Cruise' to wherever they want, by a shady-looking man and his poor-quality vessel for 25GP per person but refuse his service - They then return to the ship sailing to Miradale and barter with the quartermaster to give him 60GP and help move crates onto the ship in exchange for passage to Voltracity - After the hour, Vikivath gets a sore back from carrying more than his share of crates before the ship departs from Krong's port
