Session 37: Getting Noticed

General Summary

- The Lads had escaped the crumbling Mines of Grailstein, having stopped the Bonemancer and freed the souls of his victims. - The Lads travel through the night to Belsnik, taking a moment to rest by a beautifully moonlit lake before continuing. - Nearing Belsnik, the Lads are ambushed by four assassins that fire their crossbows at Cosmo before turning their attention to their real target, Glen. - One of the assassins is knocked unconscious by Muda, while the other three are mercilessly brutalized by the rest of the Lads and torn apart by cosmic axebeaks conjured by Cosmo. - An hour passes, and the remaining assassin wakes up surrounded by Cosmo's summons. - The Lads interrogate the assassin, asking who sent the assassins and why they were targeting Glen. - After much intimidation by the axebeaks and enlarged party members, the assassin reveals that it was an unnamed rich and powerful individual from Acrusia. - The assassin says that this person paid them a hefty sum to kill Glen and ensure the rest of his party was also dealt with. - When Glen steps forward to push the assassin into one of the axebeaks, the assassin dashes away but is chased down and ripped apart by the crowd of birds, each twice his size. - The Lads assume that the same person who hired Zesto Finesto to distribute weapons also sent the assassins to kill Glen - a man named Malthius Venomblade. - The Lads find 411GP, 17SP, 26CP, and four poison vials on the assassins' bodies. - Glen informs the Lads of the man who freed him from his prison and the torture he endured there; a prison guard named Bashar Coshan, who also told Glen about the Lads. - The Lads then returned to Little Laddy's late at night and found Laddy sitting alone at a table waiting for them. - Laddy is ecstatic to see the Lads, Horace, and Malicia, thanking the Lads for bringing his friends back to him safe and sound. - To commemorate their success, Laddy says he will place signs advertising them and their success on the front of the tavern and inside next to their bounty board. - After the skeletons, Blue and Red, enter the tavern, Laddy is frightened at first but, after some convincing, reluctantly allows them to stay. - Muda gives Laddy 100GP for his grandson's savings, and the Lads all go about their ways before resting for the night. - The next morning, the Lads wake up to a beautifully chromatic sky as they look out the window and watch the Sonn rise over the tree line.
