Session 30: Undying Love

General Summary

• Cosmo tosses a rope down to Lambert in the pit trap, and he climbs out. • Muda leads the Lads following the undead tracks, and Glen runs ahead blindly without hitting any traps. • Lambert triggers a cold trap, then continuing forward, Glen eventually triggers a lightning trap. • The Lads hear the sound of combat ahead. They see an Elven woman using arcane magic to fight off five zombies through the bushes. • While Muda and Hettle trail behind carefully, the rest of the Lads rush ahead to aid the wizard. • Lambert triggered another lightning trap, and the Lads continued to engage the zombies. • After destroying the undead, the wizard buries the bodies and introduces herself to the Lads as Melula Silvius. • She tells them she is searching for the necromancer who murdered her husband Torthir and stole his body. • The Lads tell her of their search for the necromancer and Melula decides to join them in finding their target, believing them to be Torthir's murderer, Galerion. • Cosmo summons eight cosmic wolves and sends them in a line in the direction of the zombie tracks. • The wolves trigger many traps along the way, leading to all of them dying while sparing the party from any harm. • The party eventually reaches a wretched-smelling hole of dead bodies and a small cabin in mild disrepair. • Zombies magically begin to float out of the hole and animate to attack the party members as they approach the area. • Shortly after, Torthir's animated corpse exits the cabin and begins attacking the party members. • Glen summons his Spirit Guardians which cut through zombies with the rest of the party attacks, Lambert going unconscious after several powerful necrotic blasts. • Cosmo summons eight cosmic centipedes to devour much of Torthir's body and end his undead torment. • Melula and the Lads enter the cabin where Galerion meets them, surrendering himself while boasting his great power to Melula. • Galerion's gloating is cut short when Melula furiously blasts many arcane bolts into his body, mutilating and killing him. • Shortly after, Galerion's dead eyes glow red, and another voice takes over, berating the party for killing his apprentice. • He introduces himself as the Bonemancer and invites the party to join him at the Death Party in the Grailstein Mines for the party of their lives.
