Centennia

The flying Gnome city of Centennia was a glorious sight to behold when it floated over southern Keleran, propelled by great technology conjured by the most brilliant Gnome minds. The City would fly for a time, but not forever, as envious Humans found the Gnomish lands and would seek to either claim it as their own or burn it all to ash. The Gnomes and their tools entirely outmatched the Humans. The tide of battle would turn when a group of Humans in the war against the Gnomes would travel to the mysterious desert continent of Zel'Tha. There, they forged a pact with a powerful fiend and cursed their bloodlines in return for the power to destroy their enemies. These Humans became the first Tieflings, and they used their new demonic abilities to wipe out many of the Gnomes. In the end, the City fell from the sky, destroying almost everything. Few Gnomes would manage to escape the aftermath, living amongst the neighbouring elves for a time before making their way across the world in the present time. Many of the remaining Gnomes would become enslaved to the Tieflings in what is now called New Centennia. Today, Gnomes live freely in many societies worldwide, but they remember the horrible acts of the Humans and the Tieflings back then and still hold it against them. Similarly, many Tieflings in the City believe that the Gnomes should be subjugated by them, as Tieflings think they've achieved a higher, more powerful form of being.
