Lament
Lament is one of 4 blades crafted by Solaris.
Lament is a dagger with a curved blade cast in a striking steel. It's cross guard flares out to either side in a dark steel, its handle is wrapped in the leather of an unknown beast. It's pommel has a gemstone set into it, shaped like a tear drop and of a deep blue.
Laments voice is a quiet male voice, speaking in a sad whisper. It's voice is only heard by its saint, giving direction to tasks only it knows - to strike down one who deserves it, to bring death to the sick, to do what needs to be done. Lament makes a room cold when drawn.
Lament is the blade of hardship. It's purpose is to bring trials to the people so they may grow strong. Its saints are stoic, quiet, and often work in the shadows. It's also to bring the lesson at the end of the trial, and the joy that follows when a storm ends.
People don't resent Lament or its saints. They do hold some fear of them though, Lament is one of Solaris's creations but also a bad omen.
Lament is used as both threat and prayer.
"May Lament come for you." Is a curse. "May Lament not swing." is one of hope.
The current location and holder of Lament is unknown, it was lost during the Summer Hunt Coup.
