Gauntlet Mercenary Company
One of the oldest mercenary groups around, Gauntlet can and has traced its founding to Imperial times where it hired itself to warring lords and eventually to the resistance that overthrow the Elves. Now though, Gauntlet has fallen on hard times. Large scale conflicts are few and far between and when they do pop up they are quick and rarely require the expertise of Gauntlet. Instead, Gauntlet hires itself to caravans as guards, to the Wanderlust Cartography Guild, and on the occasional trade ship crossing the pinnacle.
Gauntlet has also been said to have troops in the Nightlands, fighting with Dragonborn clans but this is seemingly a rumour and one Gauntlet refuses to comment on. They are known to be heavily invested in relics of their past, willing to fight small scale conflicts in the Lordless Lands over anything that may be connected to the groups founding.
Gauntlets reputation is higher than the Marauders but their fame isn't near the levels of adventuring guilds. Their focus on human conflict is less publicly appealing and so their members have less fame and the guild gains less investment from outside groups. So Gauntlet has become known as an easy hire, with the guild willing to put mercenaries into nearly any place they can for the right amount of coin. Though not adept at fighting monsters, Gauntlets members are trained to deal with human problems albeit violently. This makes them popular in the Lordless Lands and pockets of Vanreth where sometimes an extra sword or two is needed.
