Constructs, Dwarven
The history and inner workings of dwarven constructs are a long kept secret, kept by the Stonesmiths and Rune Crafters of the Hastlands. When the Pale Elves first conquered the north, the Dwarves had already been proficient in the craft, melding stone and magic and iron into mindless automatons to work their mines and fight in petty squabbles. When conquered, the realms of the Dwarves would be forced to hand over much of their knowledge to the pale elves - who would use it as a base to craft their own forms of constructs.
But dwarven constructs continued to be refined through the age of the empire and even further forward into the age of resistance and then into the 4 kingdoms. Now, elements of dwarven construct creation have become a little more known - golem crafting has spread with the help of gnomish tinkerers, and the south sees its own form of golems.
But none still can match the might of the dwarves. Intelligence has slowly flooded into their creations, with the Winter War proving that their golems were now more than just cannon fodder and could perform numerous tasks. Lacking sentience still, the golems of the dwarves are instead versatile constructs created through ancient rituals. They range in size from tiny stone helpers to giant titans of war, and help perform a breadth of jobs. Most importantly is their loyalty and resilience. Dwarven golems are etremely difficult to hurt or destroy especially through magical means.
In modern times Dwarven constructs rarely leave the Hastlands in order to preserve the secrecy of their construction. Though a few have been uncovered from the rebellion or unearthed after the winter war, only a few of their secrets have been found. Instead, dwarven constructs remain at home - performing whatever task they are asked to.
