Artificer

Artificers are the newest "class" of adventurer to crop up. Within the last 50 years or so magical advancement in the areas of practical use and enchantment has risen to new heights, bringing with it a huge boom in the learning sector. Universities and places of study have appeared throughout Aesteria, as have artificers.   Often referred to as "engineers" or "enchanters", artificers specialize in taking magical elements and bringing them together to create new things. They're seen as mavericks in magical culture, pushing boundaries in some circles. Artificers are primarily from Requiem where the Royal Academy of Engineers is stationed, though the Hastlands has had artificers within their borders long before Requiem - often specialized in forms of golem creation or stone work.   Artificers do not often create items purely through science or purely through magic, but often a combination of the two. An artillerist may have a strange metal cannon with a hammer to fire off shots, but that cannon is powered by an enchanted core of lightning dust. A battle smiths construct may have gears it uses to keep it moving, but those gears themselves are engraved with arcane runes.
