Elves

To understand the elves, is to understand the concept of change. The elves were the Primes' first creation, and thus the oldest race on Aeseron. They created a vast empire, starting in current-day Rakefia. When they started to enslave the other, younger races, the Primes were so angry, they took from their creation the gift of near-immortality. The elves had always had lifespans of several centuries, and suddenly they barely lived longer than the humans, halflings, tabaxi, etc. they had enslaved. Some of the elves took this as a sign to change. After a decade of infighting, these new factions decided to leave Rakefia, and start new kingdoms. One of these factions built their city far away, in current-day Ouranos. This far more cool, temperate region was home to massive forests of silver-coloured pine trees. After quite some time and some involvement from Apsidos, the god of The Moon, these Ouranian elves evolved into what is now known as Moon Elves. The original Rakefian elves received the name Sun Elves.   The other separated faction went to Tres, and founded a beautiful city. This city, and its surrounding lands, were destroyed by The Great Hydra in the Titan War. This, and the upcoming of the warlike orcs drove the Tresian elves underground, where they evolved into the Drow of Nys.

Appearance

Sun Elves: Sun elves, because of the climate in Rakefia, are usually tan to brown skinned, with mostly dark brown or black hair. Often, the hair is shaved, sometimes in intricate patterns. Dyeing hair with henna, making it a dark auburn red is also common. There are some exceptions, in which an elf is born with a light blond to silver hair colour. This is perceived as an indication of a magical bloodline within the person. It's also common for Sun Elves to have their bodies and faces tattoos. Wealth is very important in Rakefia, and it is often displayed with golden jewelry and piercings.   Moon Elves: Very different from their cousins, Ouranian elves are usually a hue of blue of skin, and have dark blue, white, black, or silver hair. They tend to wear their hair in braids, and enjoy intricate flowy tattoo designs on their bodies. Their features are often softer than Sun Elves.

  Elf Traits

Your elf character possess many gifts, vestiges of their ancient legacy.   Ability ScoreIncrease: Your Dexterity score increases by 2.   Age: Elves used to have incredibly long lifespans, but this boon was taken from them for their arrogance. Now the elves age slightly slower than humans, often reaching ages up to 150 years.   Alignment: Elves are vestiges of a lost age, their civilizations fallen. They are untethered by the laws of humans and are often chaotic. Oreyan elves are fierce protectors of all mortal life. Scyllaean elves, wild as the sea, are distant, veiled in secrets and prophecy. Both are typically good or neutral. The drow of Nys, however, cursed and driven beneath the sands, are more often evil.   Size: Elves range from under 5 to over 6 feet tall and have slender builds. Your size is Medium.   Speed: Your base walking speed is 30 feet.   Darkvision: Accustomed to ancient ruins and shadowed woods, you have superior vision in dark and dim conditions. You can see in dim light within 60 feet of you as if it were bright light, and in darkness as if it were dim light. You can’t discern color in darkness, only shades of gray.   Keen Senses: You have proficiency in the Perception skill.   Immortal Ancestry: You have advantage on saving throws against being charmed, and magic can’t put you to sleep.   Languages: You can speak, read, and write Common and Elvish. Elvish is said to be the tongue of the gods, the language spoken before the age of men and bronze.   Subraces: When you choose the subrace of your character, you can choose from among the following options or those presented in the core handbook.

Sun Elves

The Elves from Rakefia have a complicated past. They built a great civilization, enveloping all of Western Aeseron. Several lifetimes of terrible leadership, however, pushed the once great empire down until they had to give up most of their territories. The disparity between rich and poor is still massive in the desert polis, and while slavery is not technically legal anymore, many poor people work solely to pay off their debts to rich merchants and aristocrats. The Sun Elves are incredibly intelligent, boasting some of the brightest minds in magic, philosophy, and engineering.   Ability score increase: Your intelligence score is increased by one.   Zestasia's Rays: You learn the magic missile spell and can cast it once without expending a spell slot. You regain the ability to cast it in this way when you finish a long rest. At 3rd and 5th level the number of times you can cast the spell in this way without expending a spell slot is increased by one. Intelligence is your spellcasting ability for this spell.   Lost Knowledge: You are proficient in the History and Arcana skills.

Moon Elves

The Elves from Ouranos have strayed far from their origins in Rakefia. They gained a new appreciation for the mystical, and reconnected to nature in the silver forests of their new home. Their city is built within the trees, where they have throned themselves as masters of the forests. To outsiders, Moon Elves can often seem cold, and distant. But gain one's trust, and you'll have an ally for life. Their hunters and seers are renowned throughout the continent.   Ability score increase: Your intelligence score is increased by one.   Hunter's Grace: Whenever you make a ranged attack roll and roll a 1 you can reroll the die, but you must use the new roll even if it is another 1.   Elven Weapon Aptitude: You have proficiency with the javelin, spear, war spear, simple bow, and recurve bow.   Gift of Prophecy: When you trance during a long rest you are sometimes visited by prophetic dreams whose omens and portents may give you insight into the future. When you finish a long rest, roll 1d20. On a roll of 20 you can ask a single question concerning a specific goal, event, or activity to occur within 7 days. The GM offers a truthful reply. The reply might be a vision, a cryptic rhyme, or an omen.
