Veshtiza (Arctic Vampire Tribes)

Creatures vampire Tribes, Far North, Arctic Region. Alignment: Chaotic Evil. Knowledge Geography Far North, Knowledge religion.   (DC 12) The arctic reaches of the Northern Continent are an extremely deadly place. Not only are there the extreme cold and ice and the many dangerous creatures, but its also home to the Veshtiza Tribes. Legends say that the tribes are all vampires and that the swarm out of the arctic winter as the day light dies.   (DC 15 and religion 12) These tribes number between 25 individuals to extended groups numbering in the thousands. Each member of the tribe is a vampire. The majority of the members are human but there are sizable numbers of orcs, goblins, giants, ogres and a smatterings of halfling, kobolds, dwarfs, elves, Urskans, and other creatures. Smaller tribes are lead by a single ‘chief vampire’ and the other members tend to be its spawn. The larger tribes are large groups of independent vampires and vast numbers of servant spawn. The Veshtiza are completely immune to the cold temperatures and very resistant to the elements in general. Furthermore, the long periods of night and darkness in these regions give them much greater range to move about on the surface freely. In the Arctic summer these creature retreat into caves, ice castles and other sanctuaries to wait out the sun and exist on animal blood and captives.   (DC 18 and Religion 15) Most of the Veshtiza are not well organized and tend to be easily repulsed by the other powerful factions in the area; the Nivkarihns, the Urskans, and the Mammoth Lords. However, there are rumors of a tribe that is secretly and systematically taking in small tribes, forging a powerful force of vampires and spawn. They apparently take great care to not leave witnesses for nothing is known of this group, it may simple be a story.
