The University of Lepidstadt, located in the city of Lepidstadt, is one of the most famous institutions of learning in the world. Outside of the Free City of Tranquility, its the best University in the Northern Continent.

- Professor Lorimor: The kind hearted Professor Lorimor died of mysterious causes some months ago. As a youth, he was a daring explorer. He retired to teach and research after having his fill of adventure, but never recovered from the disappearance of his wife.
- Professor Crowl: The middle aged professor of archeology has never grown up. He continues to drink, carouse, and go on high risk expeditions just like he did as a young man. A gifted wizard and trapfinder. He is well known in all the taverns and underground card games in Lepidstadt.
Economics: The University charges a sizable tuition for each student, paid upfront. There are a number of scholarships available for those unable to pay but who show great promise. The University's alumni, who include a great many adventurers and world leaders, donate large amounts of wealth. The University also creates magical items and sells them to generate income. The University also possesses several secret contacts with the Ustavian government for different services, including magical defenses and magical investigations.
The Archives: The University is somewhat secretive about what it has and where those things are. It has a vast collection of historic relics, including some very powerful enchanted items. These are not kept on the campus, but rather kept in vaults only reachable through magical means and blocked from divinations and scrying. Copies of items, papers, and tomes are kept in the local libraries, but originals are closely guarded elsewhere.

Relationships with other Organizations:
- Tranquility: The University is often in direct professional competition with the Seekers of Tranquility for possession of knowledge and artificats. There is some degree of cooperation and sharing, but not as much as some might assume.
- The Floating Tower of Opal: Similar to Tranquility, there is a high degree of competition with the world's biggest mage's guild, but also some mutual respect.
- Fochlucen College: The traveling agents and bards of the famous college are seen as useful if "rustic" allies.
- The Vigil: The Vigil and the Order of the Palantine Eye are allies and include some cross membership. The Vigil relies on the Order to keep watch over Ustavia and the surrounding lands.
