TriLexRessurium (Celestial)

This major event thirty years ago rocked the Kingdom of Timbal. Its monolithic, Holy Church of the Three Divinities, long corrupted by greed and power, faced otherworldly reckoning. A group known as the Tyrian Five (although they were not all worshippers of Tyr), was able to sneak into the Brilliant Cathedral of the Sun and use a artifact they recovered to perform a powerful ritual. This ritual summoned a powerful angel dedicated to each of the Gods of Light. These three Angels heeded the Tyrian Five to return the Church to a path of Light. Over the next few years a large number of powerful church members were demoted, excommunicated, or worse. These Angels will remain in the in the Cathedral for another 47 years (total of 77). Their presences has changed the Church for the better. The Tyrian Five were excommunicated by the Angel of Law for breaking their oaths to the Church. Their crimes, all done in pursuit of cleansing the Church, included lying to Church officials, breaking into Church property, unauthorized use of Church magics, and a host of similar crimes. Ironically, at the sametime, they were also deemed Heroes of the Light by the Angel of the Sun. They were pardoned of all punishments, except excommunication, by the Angel of Mercy. While no longer officially part of the Church they remain very controversial figures in the Kingdom. Some see them as heroes and others villains The Three Angels: Erelim, Angel of the Sun, Pelorian Servant Tabbris, Angel of Mercy, Madrielian Servant Rabdos, Angel of Law, Tyrian Servant   These three holy visitors from the Outer Planes reside in the Cathedral of the Sun. There initial decade on the prime material plane involved reviewing Church records and then reconcile them with interviews and other sources of information. "The Thrice Sanctified Holy Audit" was what some named it, but never in front of an angel. The judgement and subsequent punishments passed down from the Angels was merciful as befitting their nature. However, it is said some of those guilty of the most heinous crimes have disappeared and not been seen since. Many, many of the clergy of Three Divinities were punished. Some were stripped of titles and banished. Others were sent back to the most basic tasks of an apprentice, praying and sweeping out churches, stables or worse to contemplate their transgressions and regain their humble lives of service. It is rumored that not even the Archbishop was left unscathed in this gentle inquisition.   Following the first decade, the investigations and punishments have all but stopped. Its unclear what the Three Angels have been doing in the ensuing years. Rewriting the Holy Laws of the Church to prevent such misuses of Church authority do not reoccur is one thought. It is said, that with a good enough reasons, anyone can be petitioned to be heard by one or all three of the angels.
