The Dreaming

The Dreaming refers to a specific pocket plane (apparently infinite) on the Astral Plane that serves Dragons as a place to meet and socialize. Dragons of a certain age and potency can assess the Dreaming while asleep. It is thought to be exceedingly difficult to access this plane physically (and likely suicidal) but it is very easy for Dragons and those whom Dragons wish to enter, to access.
The Dreaming serves as a means for Dragons to socialize, meet, compete, share knowledge, and basically interact with no danger of violence, jealousy, murder, and other staples of dragon behavior. It appears that dragons from worlds other than Aertrea are present, although this is not confirmed. Dragons project themselves there, where in the limited confines of the plane, they have god like powers. They can shape themselves and their surroundings to be whatever they want.

A dragon's power determines the scope and the size of the area they can shape and change. An ancient Dragon could control the Dreaming around them for miles. The only form of "violence" that can take place in the Dreaming is one dragon forcing changes on the Dreaming against the will of another. There is no danger here, as a Dragon can simple leave the Dreaming if they choose. Sometimes Dragons come to such mental competitions as a part of planned "game" with agreed upon rules. A sort of "dream chess" with infinite possibilities.
[col.]The dragons also use the Dreaming to meet with others for concerns in the real world. In theory, this could be planning an invasion or expedition. In practice, this seems to be mostly about mating. The Dreaming is often an "online social club for single dragons".
There are legends of Dragons with such powerful wills that can inflict madness on other dragons in the Dreaming. Leaving them trapped there and allowing their mortal bodies to eventually wither and die.
