Damage Reduction

Damage Reduction:

• Damage Reduction over Magic is again determined by the “plus” of the weapon.
• Mithral items count in all ways as silver, but have their own statistics.
• Other damage reduction is overcome by materials such as adamantine, silver, or cold iron.
• Damage reduction over slash can not be overcome.
• Epic damage reduction can be overcome only by an epic weapon (enchanted to a +10 level or deemed an artifact/relic). Any creature with epic damage reduction counts as epic for overcoming it.
• Magical damage reduction is reduced by the plus of a weapon. For example, a creature with DR 10/Magic +2, is attacked by a +1 weapon, five damage is reduced from each hit. DR 5/Magic is overcome by a +1 weapon, DR 10/Magic by +2, DR 15/Magic by +3, DR 20/Magic by +4, DR 25/Magic by +5.
