Bard The Bard is a class that may appear on the surface to be very different from one culture to another. Weapons and armor: all simple weapons for region, plus longsword, rapier, sap, short sword, short bow, whip, light armor, shields except tower. Spells: Given as per day/known. Based full on CHA for spells, bonus spells, and save DCs. At 5th level and every 3 bard levels after that you may replace a known spell with a different one and it must be at least 2 levels lower then the highest you are able to cast. Bardic Knowledge: all knowledge Skills are considered class skill for the bard, you add ½ your bard level or any prestige class that provides bardic knowledge to all knowledge checks. Bardic Music: gains one usage per class level. Each has minimum perform rank. Each use requires a standard action and concentration. Fascinate (3 ranks): can target 1 additional foe per 3 levels over 1st, nearby dangers or combat prevent this from working. Those targeted make will saves vs. bard perform check, those that fail, sit and listen to performance taking no other action, take -4 on spot and listen for up to 1 round per bard level. Inspire Courage: (3 ranks) self and allies within 30’ gain morale bonus listed for attack, damage and saves vs. fear. Lasts 5 rounds after the bard stops performing. Inspire Competence (6 ranks): an ally (not self) within 30’ gains +2 competence bonus on any skill check. This bonus increases to +4 at 10th level and +6 at 17th level. Jack of All Trades: at 5th level all skills may be used even if untrained. At 11th level the bard can purchase all skills at the cost of 1 point for 1 rank, regardless if it’s a class skill or not. This does not increase the maximum ranks possible. At 19th level you are the master of all skills and may take 10 in any skill regardless of distraction and danger. Suggestion (9 ranks): does not use a bardic music usage, may use suggestion, as spell, against a foe already fascinated, will save DC 10 + ½ bard levels + CHA negates. Inspire Greatness (12 ranks): may inspire greatness in self or others within 30’ for each 3 levels above 9th may target an additional person. Those inspired gain temporary hit points equal to their character level + CON, +2 competence to hit, and +1 competence to Fort saves, this lasts for the performance + 5 rounds. Song of Freedom (15 ranks) requires a full round of concentration and performance to target a single target in 30’ with break enchantment, as spell with CL = bard level. Inspire Heroics (18 ranks) target self or ally in 30’ , for every 3 levels over 15th target an additional person, gives +4 morale bonus on saves, +4 dodge bonus to AC and lasts the performance + 5 rounds. Mass Suggestion (21 ranks) as suggestion but can use on multiple fascinated targets at the same time.
