Many beings equate the start of reality with the beginning of the prime material plane. However, prior to that there existed life of many sorts within the many elemental and energy planes as well as floating through the spaces between planes (astral plane). These beings existed in separate realities, having little awareness of the other realms. It was not until the explosion of the prime material plane that combined the many energies and forces of the universe that life (as we know it now) truly began and became more self-aware. The birth of the material plane was thought to be an explosion, but some believe it may have actually been a series of small "leaks" that increased over time. This explosion (or leaks) was a ripping of planar boundaries, flooding the void with matter and energies. Fire, earth, water, and air (and all their many combinations and forms) surged, combined, and fought as they spilled into this new realm. In this meeting the seeds for the quasi- and para-elemental planes formed. This matter was joined by energies from the positive and negative energy planes and energies of law and order (from a plane that would someday became both Heaven and Hell) and of chaos (from a plane that would someday become the Abyss and Arboria). This flood of energies and matter mixed with the primal which some believe to be literally nothing but others see as a very definite “something”) becoming the building blocks of the prime material. The prime material was a location where these materials and energies combined and came apart. Order and pattern slowly took shape, endlessly broken down by chaos, only to be borne again. Eventually these processes lead to the creation of suns and planets and other cosmic phenomenon . There are some who believe that this process was guided by an intelligence beyond the knowing of any being. They put this all-knowing and all-powerful entity as beyond any other force (sometimes referred to as the Over-God) Others would see this process as a simple following of the rules and natural laws of the universe. Regardless of why, the first world on the prime material was born, it it was a place of great influence. It was known by some as Aer or the First World. The First World was a place of incredible power and influence, now a barren wasteland of dust, ash, and lethal energies. Long gone, the Aer's inhabitants, The Anasestra, First Worlders influenced much of the life to appear later on other worlds and literally shaped Heaven and Hell. During this time period, the outer planes, as they are known now were still forming and organizing. Initially there were just two, from one flowed the energy of law and from the other chaos. These outer planes began to change in relation to the powerful forces of the First Worlders. Their faith and actions were mirror by the spiritual world of the outer planes. As the powerful ideals of good and evil evolved on Aer, so did the outer planes changed to reflect this ideas, creating four distinct spiritual realms instead of two.
