Progress Update ~ Session 60

After Jorgenfist

With Mokmurian defeated, and the diplomacy of Ragnar and the remaining giant elders, the armies that were amassing around The Black Spire have been abated. The forces were only loosely united under the shear fear of a spell-slinging stone giant, and the seemingly endless coffers he possessed.

The Remaining Forces

The ogres, goblinoids, giantkin, and other monstrous raced forces with recede to their homelands over the coming weeks. The protection of the Black Monk will ensure Jorgenfist itself will likely stay abandoned and revered by the stone giants of the Storval Plateau.

Temporal Trip-Up

The party found itself out of sync with their natural timeline when a tranportation spell was interrupted by ancient arcane interference. Unbeknownst to them, until arriving at farmiliar grounds, the party had been travelling radically backwards through time. The Druid and Fay were able to confirm suspicions once they were closer to, what would be, Sandpoint and its highlands.

Stepping Into the Past

With Fay and the other Scribes pursuing a temporal fix in a plane restricted to members of the Solemn Order of Sages, Cobus and Ragnar found themselves almost 4000 years in the past - and a few hours to kill.

Young-er Longtooth

The duo approached Sandpoint from the south, splitting the Devil's Platter and the Ashen Rise on their journey to discover a farmiliar site - the Varisian Gulf. Skirting between the ivory plateaus, red dragons circling to the north and black dragons to the south, the two prepared for the worst. Shields braced and hammers locked, they decided to use caution and words instead of fire and brimstone to win the day.
WIP
A large black and a larger red dragon taunted the travellers before realizing a connection none were aware of. The party had very recently been in contact with one of these dragons. More importantly, they had gone out of their way to also free members of its future brood. Though Sandpoint was nowhere to be seen, there were signs of activity and pilgrimage throughout the coastal cliffside.

Temporal Wrap-Up

Fay, with help from the Temporal Office, was able to re-align the party's location in time-space and correct them back to their natural vector. The Solemn Order of Sage's, via Heather and Lyrie, have lended a hand, and tipped their hand, with their own efforts in temporal corrections - their directive not yet fully understood. The Overseer seemed to be an interesting individual...

Returning to Sandpoint

Much-earned rest and payment for the party's efforts were waiting for them in the once-quiet sea-side town of Sandpoint. The populace is bustling, vibrant, and quite energized by in influx of peoples and the various problems that such an event creates. Sandpoint is nothing if not accepting and accomodating, happily integrating all new residents into the various facets of the lives they have been eeking out on the Varisian coast for generations; this is a place of cooperation and community.

Rocksplitter Refuge Expands

No one is turned away, and the facilities and growing services that Rocksplitter Refuge continues to supply are growing at a rapid pace; barely surpassing the needs of the refugees and immigrants, alike. Without the Refuge, though, this would be a breaking burden for a community that has been gripped by a low-yield harvest and other unpleasantness.

A Stop In Magnimar

Debreifing the Administrations

Ragnar was quick to seek out and debrief the party's, seeming, patrons Justice Ironbriar and the Lord-Mayor. It seems that Magnimar has still been plagued with aggression and malicious violence agaisnt its population, with the once Lord-Mayor Grobaras presumed to be a recent victim of the Skinsaw Murderer. The new Lord-Mayor, Sabriyya Kalmeralm, previously known as the "Princess of the Markets" was elected lord-mayor in a landslide election that saw Magnimar come out in droves to support her in a true grass-roots movement that has given her majority power in the sprawling City of Monuments.

A Disturbance in the Alabaster District

Sora, seeing to right the wrong of imprisonment, successfully led a chicken-run, of sorts, that saw a menagerie of "monsters" released on the Alabaster District. Almiraji, cockatrix, and proto-drakes were all reported to be terrorizing the quiet and civilized back-alleys and avenues. Said to have interrupted one of the most engaging and entertaining flash-mob presentations but a kitsune busker, the relative peace was shattered and the large group became a stampeding mob as "dangerous" creatures bolted from their cages and attacked the crowd indiscrimiantly.   Sora has gained a life-long companion in a, mainly intact, cockatrice runt. Her group of misfits also gains a few almiraj and poorly-painted lizards, that are more than happy to enjoy their new-found freedom and follow the food that the Kitsune seems to have in ever abundance.

A Return to Pug's

Cobus met with Pug again and observed Justice Ironbriar picking up his routine order of Collapsable Cages. The Gunslinger was able to intercept a rookery raven and has learned that The Justice has been in correspondance with a party to the east - a party he is awaiting. Justice Ironbriar's missive also informs the party that he is aware they are in the city.   Cobus has gained inspiration towards a temporal device to give him understanding and control over his timeline and, hopefully, his fate. Feeling conflicted in a time of adversity and strife, the foreign gunsmith is making an active decision to subvert his presumed inevitable obsolescence. Only Time will tell if he is successful.

Two More Shards of Sin

The Pathfinder Society was found in a crisis, or sorts. Many of it's members lay incapacitated in an improptu triage set up in the outer library of the adventurer headquarters, their ailments not fully known, but their cause still present in the next room. Somewhat protected, the Shard of Greed was found in an enclosure errected to protect the enclave while their sages attempt to study and understand it.   Another Shard was also on-site,by chance. The Society had not been able to give it the same treatment as the that of greed, though, as it was just recently delivered. The Justicar's Office had recently started an investigation into a possible murder in the Underbridge district, when a body was found with the artifact lodged within the chest cavity. The Pathfinder Socity has been tasked with helping investigate the item and identify the magics that obviously eminate from the blade-like shard.   Without physically interacting with the Shard of Pride, Fay was able to remove the foreign item from the body and are now using their Bag of Holding as a quarantine for two active Shards.

The Lady's Cape

Changes to the Cape

The monument was in a vastly different state than it was the last time The Druid, Dredge, and Ragnar had visited. All the overgrown flora has receeded from the monument itself, the battlefields that surrounded the site have grown quiet.

The Residents

Vampires were found within, and a meeting of ancient individuals was interrupted before an elder escaped leaving the party to parlay with a well-dressed, but obviously out-of-place, recently arisen vampire lord whom assured the party he harboured no ill-will for their intrusions into his home.   With the help of Malachai, the party finds their various ways back to the Longrunner, now charting a course back to Magnimar?
