Vrynian
The icy lands of Vryn have a unique history and culture. Once, this region was a lush forest full of life. Towering human folk called Nahullo roamed its lands building massive structures. During the archaic apocalypse however a massive flood of ice water engulfed the region raising the surrounding sea levels and changing the climate to a frozen tundra. Turning a once open land area into a archipelago island system. The ruins of the massive structures can still be found beneath the sea. Though, many have been claimed by aquatic humanoids called Simerah.
Those that were able to escape the flood upon the high mountains lived an isolated life. Regular sized humans from the southern forests found their way to these islands in search of resources. These people founded a way life by living upon floating icebergs and fishing the seas. They eventually established settlements upon the mainlands. Where they formed an unlikely alliance with the giants. Teaching them to craft sea vessels and hunt massive whales. This brought about conflict with the Simerah.
It would be several centuries before outsiders would discover this forgotten region after the Ashen Age. These people would be colonials from the Vahltain colony from the south. Seeking a land away from oppressive taxes and regulations. They discovered a harsh land. Seeming at first nearly uninhabitable they discovered a large deposit of gold and decided they would make it work somehow. They went on to establish many cities within the lands harvesting precious metals and gems and selling them to other nations. Through these means they established a surplus and a very powerful banking organization which attracts wealthy aristocrats from the entire continent.
