Free-Dryn

Dryn, the former capital of New Vahlta. It was liberated by the free-folk. It is now the unofficial capitol of the Free lands. The promise of wealth and prosperity attracted many colonials to the city.

Government

Anarchy. Orlon Varlkin, Anarch of Proderra commands the Free-Folk Militia from this city. The people are free to do as they please though mutual consent and understanding unites the people.

Defences

A stone and wooden wall surrounds the perimeter the wealthier market area of the city. Towers have been built to allow archers to defend the city from atop. The towers also provide a great line of sight for scouts.

Industry & Trade

A large vineyard outside provides the city with rare grapes which are fermented into the most cherished wines in the lands. A large bounty of edible crops are also grown on the surrounding farmland.

Infrastructure

Cobble stone roads. Wooden fencing protects the farmlands and vineyards. Large manors owned by the aristocrats rest on the high hill. The main city hall can be seen from afar as it sits on the peak of the high hill.

Assets

Blackfoot Tavern: Known for its large dancing floor. The best bards in the land hope to land a gig playing sweet dance music here. The scent of freshly roasted meat hangs in the air. A wine cellar beneath holds many of the best wines. The dining area is lit by lanterns and provides a great view of the revelry. The upstairs has lodging for those weary of travel or perhaps too inebriated. It is quite expensive.   Dankswill Bar: The watering hole for those that cannot afford the luxuries of the tavern on high hill. The wooden door attached by a single rusty hinge barely hangs on as it sways and creeks in the wind. Brawls are a common event. Mormin Dankswill aspires to join the vintners guild but does not have the financial to join. So he attempts to make his own sweet nectar out of discarded grapes and wheat. His signature is the Dank Swill. He sells it for cheap as is smell terrible but is highly alcoholic. This attracts many patrons.   Stone-hand Apothecary: Kelly Stone-Hand The sister of Kailen Stonehand, Proderran Hunter. She watches his daughter Vylee here. As she make herbal remedies. Both recreational and medical. (slippery oil, tonic of healing. tobacco, sweet leaf)   Jars o' Preserve: Ran by Willy Fancypants an eccentric fellow waering fancy pants and an ornate feathered cap. He sells fruit jams and jellies within mason jars. Some are simple fruit flavors. Others may have a glow about them or have twigs within the jar. A fine delicacy. He can even bake cakes by order.   Wood-Mill: The Dryn stream flows from the north to the south west. Lumber jacks cut down trees and use the stream to carry the logs to the mill where they are sawed into workable lumber. Claws, chains and saws of iron are used to handle. There is always work ready for those in need of resources.   Vahltain Free-Man's Furnace: Golrin Smit, a soot covered man with a large brown beard. works this furnace to make iron equipment for the Free-Folk militia. Iron circle shields, iron axes, spears, Iron tipped arrows, pickaxes, spokes, caltrops, nails, shovels. Door hinges (out of stock). Black smoke rolls out of the chimney of the hot burning furnace. Seeking a new apprentice. Desperately needs iron ores.

Architecture

Tall wooden buildings supported by imported steel beams allow for constructs that can stand 4-5 stories tall.

Geography

Fertile land surrounds a high ascending hill with a lake behind it. The mountains can be seen on the northern coast.

Fertile soil. Fresh water. Stone, Lumber, Fish, Hunting game, fruit such as grapes.
