Aerova is a world of veiled history. What is known of the world now is that civilization survives above the clouds- the Cloud Sea. Anything that is alive now lives on the back of Titans, themselves living but quite benign massive creatures that serve as continents. All sorts of life, plant and animal, flourishes on and in them. The only other sign of life in this world is the World Tree, a large, unihabited mysterious tree that juts out of the Cloud Sea and into the heavens, piercing even beyond the secondary layer of clouds above the Titans. The Titans move around the World Tree in vaguely circular orbits, doing so for the entirety of their long lives until they perish, slowly descending into the Cloud Sea never to be seen again.   There are currently seven continent-sized Titans that persist above the clouds. The four largest Titans- Delmuth, Mortum, Kahldin, and Ahncor- support the majority of all humanoid life. One of the smaller Titans, nestled mostly within the clouds, attracts several much smaller Titans that congregate nearby it, forming what is known as the Lytrian Archipelago. Another Titan of a similar size, Zellott instead soars far above the height that the largest Titans inhabit, along with its twin Torgott. There are Titans of many sizes, and some smaller Titans could serve as islands, while much smaller Titans might sometimes decide to ferry humanoids from place to place as a boat. The Titans are generally quite benign race, and although they possess great intelligence are often content to simply exist in silence as they assist the other intelligent races of the world and observe the events that transpire.   Great turmoil is occurring, however. Torgott has been in the process of falling and dying for the past year, and although its original height meant that there has been more time before it falls beneath the clouds within another year or so it will fall completely. The creatures on it have been trying to flee, but not all have been able to escape. Mortum's resources on the Titan have also begun to die off, indicating that the death of that Titan is near- unfortunate, considering that Mortum has one of the greatest populations of intelligent races of any Titan. Tensions are high between the peoples of all of the Titans as the need for habitable space ever grows. With no birth of a Titan having ever been observed, the future seems quite uncertain...
