Travelling
To the players travelling happens in the blink of an eye, but the characters spend a big portion of their time travelling.
The base travel pace for a normal party is 3 miles per hour (1/10th of combat speed) and you can travel 8 hours per day, which brings the daily travel distance to 24 miles per day. This assumes conditions are normal, meaning you travel on a road or other easy terrain and have mild weather conditions. There are many things that might slow a party down, weather, terrain, and Exhaustion being the most common.
A party moves as fast as its slowest member. So it might be useful to have a mount or other animal that can carry a party member, or one of them notorious npcs who move faster than your walking speed but slower than your running speed.
