Druid

The druid is a sub class of cleric, with an affinity to nature rather than being intermediaries between the mortal world and the distant planes of the gods. Their spirituality of spell learning is similar to that of clerics. Druids are considered healers too, for they know how to combine their plant knowledge with magical forces for the better of player health.

Players Handbook (page 21)

Druids can be visualized as medieval cousins of what the ancient Celtic sect of Druids would have become had it survived the Roman conquest. They hold trees (particularly oak and ash), the sun, and the moon as deities. Mistletoe is the holy symbol of druids, and it gives power to their spells. They have an obligation to protect trees and wild plants, crops, and to a lesser extent, their human followers and animals. Thus, druids will never destroy woodlands or crops no matter what the circumstances. Even though a wood, for example, were evilly hostile, druids would not destroy it, although nothing would prevent them from changing the nature of the place if the desire and wherewithal existed. In similar fashion, they avoid slaying wild animals or even domestic ones except as necessary for self-preservation and sustenance.

House Rule

The druids secret language is minimalistic and not a complete language, and therefore cannot be used to hold a secret conversation between druids. It is more phrase like, and related exclusively to their relationship with nature.   Druids do not gain languages merely by increasing in level. Rather, they have the ability to learn a new language, but must spend non-adventuring time doing so, in a location where the language can be taught, either from a natural born speaker, colony, or active tuition from someone who already can speak the language. See Character Languages   While druids can adorn any armour they can, they are unlikely to choose metal armour.   The description about reaching higher levels of Druid (and Archdruid and The Great Druid) do not relate to Aerisian.

Spells Usable

Druids can use an additional first level spell over the number defined in PH p20. ie at level 1 they can use 3 spells, at level 2 they can 4 spells, etc.
