The Great Collapse was the disaster that changed the world forever. The magical ties that held the maelstrom contained began to crack. The sheer might of the arcane energy blasting off throughout the world shook the continents and raised the sea. Tsunamis devastated the islands, earthquakes shook all lands. Tornados, hurricanes, and fiery eruptions made the world fall into chaos. It was said that Moraphan himself was seen riding a chariot of ash through the sky. The sky itself became a cacophony of colors and elements as meteors rained down. Witness accounts wrote of the sounds of ringing discordant choruses that filled the air. Other witnesses wrote of devils and fiends exploding from the ground, and the skies shredding open to meet the dark forces in battle. The Staff of Odeus was lost in the chaos, leaving the legitimacy of the Praetoran Emperors in darkness. When the Collapse finally stopped the kingdoms rebuilt, and the dawn of a new time came.
