The Nimina Culling

From a massive Hel-Gate a Devil army was unleashed upon the material plane. Not long after the invasion, a giant column of fire was unleashed upon the forest. It is assumed that the target was the only known settlement within the magic woods, the Nimina Conclave.

It was a hot summer day in Val'Kara. Across it's lands armies marched, folk farmed, and the people of Vardenburg lazed in the blazing summer suns. The afternoon heat washing over the field workers was suddenly amplified by a blast of heat as they looked up to see chains the size of fortress walls rip from the sky. Even miles away the cloud of Devils was visible to them. The farmers dropped their tools, the patrons of the Choking Kelpie ran outside to see a blinding column of fire and death pour from the open portal. A second wave of heat blasted the townsfolk, as they rubbed their eyes to see animals and all manner of Fey beings running from the forest. Some of the things, creatures and Feyfolk emerging from the woods looked half melted and hardly alive. Limbs falling off, bones exposed. Those who were seen leaving the forest were not long for this world. The fields, hills and valleys surrounding the Nimina Forest were soon filled with the corpses of Fey.
