The Century of Glass
The century following the Great Collapse was called the Century of Glass for its fragility and unease. The various kingdoms once again had to rebuild. While some fared better then others, all had to bury their dead and find a way forward. The Khaja Sultanate in particular restored the great city of Constantia. Many scholars in search of answers delved into the Libris Chronatum, but many of these scholars delved too deep and went mad in the never ending halls. These mad scholars became known as “The Lost”. The Ordo Magia worked hard across the world to help rebuild. They officially split from their exclusive oath to the Praetoran Empire in order to aid all nations in the salvaging of any artifacts, buildings, or even political structures that fell in the Great Collapse. The Kari, devastated by a great tsunami, locked themselves off from the rest of the world in 50 AGC. The Shang-Do Alean Dynasty (Founded in 32 AGC) saw this as an opportunity to conquer the Kari easily in the aftermath of the Collapse. In the year 52 AGC the Shang-Do forces sailed for Kari, within 6 months they were repelled by the island’s people, who fought so ferociously that they strongly planted themselves as the first world power Post-Collapse. They even received aid from their new allies the Minotaurs in their counter invasion of Alea. In 53 AGC the combined Knosis-Kari forces devastated the Shang-Do Dynasty coast, and then pushed deep into their lands. Even razing their capital city. After this retaliation, the Kari and Knosis Minotaurs sailed away victorious. This alliance would stand strong for many more centuries till the Knosis Silence. They officially declared their allyship in 55 AGC. The Shang-Do were deeply shamed and swore revenge on the alliance. In 67 AGC the Anglica declared war on the Vilkans, this was a 4 year war that ended mostly ineffectual other than Anglica’s small territorial gains. But the Anglica took a loss when in 89 AGC they lost a revolution to the Halflings of the Shyrland, who once again were independent, and would miraculously stay that way into modern times. The century was closed with the defeat of The Chorus. The pirate conclave of many different ships mounted together led by the dread pirate lord Rydon Wavewalker. He was defeated in a show of amazing unity from the various nations of the world. The Knosis-Kari Alliance, the Triton Hegemony, the Praetoran Empire, and the Khaja Sultanate all aided in the battle that became known as the Sinking of the Chorus in the year 99 AGC.
