Zarafell

Zarafell is home to Triss. When the party enters Zarafell via the Royal Trade bridge between Durah’ Sol and Gil, they are greeted with the beautiful and sprawling countryside of Razda. The party stops briefly to decide where they will go next to board a ship to Silverspire. However, before they can get too far, they are kidnapped and brought to the capital city of Inora. Here they are brought before the High King of Zarafell (need name). After telling him their story and Cara revealing that she is the heir to the Arvalis and to the throne of Frewen, the High King orders them a personal escort through the mountains by Triss. After a long trek through the mountains, the exit on the south end of the range and head for the port city of Talm. It is in Talm that they are ambushed by Rael and Cara is poisoned just as they board a ship to leave.

Geography

Zarafell has been described as one of the more beautiful countries in the world and one to visit before you die. Split into 4 large provinces, Norfell to the North, Razda in the northeast, Dori in the east and south, and Kerwell to the west stretching from the south coast toward the northern coast. Zarafell is home to the longest mountain range in the world known as (need better name) the Western Mountains. Starting in Norfell all the way in the north and the bottom reaching close to the most southern point in Dori. The countryside would be best described like Switzerland. Very mountainous and beautiful. The entire northeast portion of the country (Razda) is home to lush forestland, hill country, and many rivers. In central to west Razda, there is the Noldrin Valley, a beautiful grasslands, rich with greenery and farmland. Moving further south along the eastern coast into Dori, there is the Dorran Basin where many river systems meet in Lake Dori. Most of Zaran architecture resembles medieval Swiss style. I’m not sure how to describe that.

Fauna & Flora

Flora: In the mountaintops, at higher altitudes, you can find astrid blooms. These small white and blue flowers only grow in very high altitudes and bloom in colder environments. These rare flowers are hard to find and for those that find them, they use them in health tinctures and elixirs. Among the astrid blooms, there are also terra roots. These root vegetables are also only found in high altitude regions, especially in rocky ground. When dug up, fresh terra roots are an orangey brown color and when cooked they turn white. Terra roots are mainly used in stews and other dishes as an ingredient. Just eaten by themselves can be bitter and unpleasant.

Natural Resources

Zarafell is a major exporter in many kinds of stone. Because of the mountains, there are a great number of mines and quarries. Also fish is a great resource, there are plenty of successful fishing cities along the long coasts.
