Tiefling

Tieflings are descendants of individuals who made a pact with Asmodeus, the Lord of Devils, who infused their bodies with devilish power and forever changed their very blood. Tieflings are far removed in the lineage of such people, but the devilish blood is strong enough to change their bodies even so far down the genetic line. It is not unheard of for tieflings to crop up in families, the devil blood having remained dormant for a few generations, and then suddenly popping up again.
Due to their appearance, tieflings often face prejudice. Some folks fear them, thinking them monsters who happily kill or try to steal souls. Some simply find them unsettling or disturbing, and still others believe them to be beneath other free races, little-more than freaks undeserving of respect. Many blood hunters are tieflings, as they find themselves unwanted by the greater world and travel to the institutes looking for a purpose and a family.
