Upbringing
Elena had a lot of freedom growing up, as her parents spent much of her childhood focusing on her older sister Emilia, the heiress of House Barden. She was a very rebellious child, often sneaking out to hangout with friends, including Darion Larrion, whom she was very close with as a child. One day, when she was 14, Elena was playing at the lake with Darion and Drew Larrion, her younger brother Edgar, and some other children from the city. Drew and Edgar were wrestling and Drew pushed Edgar into the lake, not knowing that he could not swim, and he drowned. This tragedy caused a rift between the two families, and their friendly rivalry became violent. When this violence resulted in the death of Baron Larrion's mother, Marta, the two families opened up peace negotiations and it was decided that Elena and Darion would marry to bring the two families together again. Darion and Elena met for the first time in two years just weeks before the wedding and got along as if it had only been days.

At her wedding ceremony, Elena announced that she was pregnant with Darion's child, and the news was met with applause. When the thieve's guild interrupted the wedding she was killed alongside her mother and father, Darion, and several others.
