Personal history
The son of Ryujin, Davy Jones betrayed his father and stole his prized flagship, becoming the first pirate in the process. As the Gods came hunting for him, he tricked them three times, but at the fourth, he found himself cornered. With Ryujin, Diana and Bastet Sekhmet all bearing down on him, he desperately sought out an ally and found one in the Titan Oceanus. Though still imprisoned in Tartarus, Oceanus held enough power to grant Davy Jones his protection as long as he stays on the sea.
Unable to leave the ocean, Davy Jones roams in his flagship, the Scarlet Wyrm. Here, he captures the souls of those who drown. Those who he considers worthy he binds to his ship to serve as his crew. Those who are not, however, are thrown to the undead sharks who ever follow in his path.
