Nuria Character in Aels | World Anvil

Nuria

Nuria, goddess of justice and balance, was the first goddess to appear in Aels, followed by her four sisters, and together make up the Five Sisters. It is the second most powerful divinity, being surpassed only by Myone, magic goddess, its goddaughter.

Physical Description

General Physical Condition

Nuria appeared in her physical form only a few times, always following a significant event in which at least two of her sisters were also present. When she does, she appears as a woman with long brown hair, her right eye shines in white light, and the left shows a black sepulchral emptiness. Her skin is almond-coloured, and she wears a dull green sleeveless dress that goes up to her feet, with a large tail, bound by a brown leather belt with its sacred symbol on the buckle. Those who approach the goddess feel an apathetic aura, and even without realising it they begin to lose their extreme desires and passions as well as their most profound convictions.

Mental characteristics

Personal history

The goddess dominates with her portfolio of justice and balance, though some also attribute neutrality to her. Nuria is one of the Five Sisters of the beginning of time and also one of the Nine Nobles. It currently exercises dominion over the central plane of the cosmological wheel, the Outlands, and influences various plans around it, namely: Elysium, Beastlands, Ysgard, Limbo, Pandemonium, Carceri, Hades, Gehenna, Acheron, Mechanus, and Bytopia.   The goddess rarely interferes in the affairs of mortals, and even of the deities themselves, acting only as a participant in Aels' most critical final decisions. This neutrality ensured that Nuria maintained its original power almost intact, being the second strongest deity of all realms.

Appearence

Together with her sisters, Nuria was responsible for the initial creation of Aels. At first, the Five Sisters, still as Amalgam, used the Primordial Essence to make their first creation: the Astral Sea. They put it as an energetic sphere in the center of the crystal sphere.   From there, the sisters divided to follow their individualities, generating five distinct energy points. The pure energy of each of the goddesses became five of the planes of the Aels cosmology, and the boundaries between planes, where two forms of energy meet, with the abundance of the Primordial Essence, soon became new forms of force, the second generation of Gods. This process was repeated a second time after that, resulting in the third generation of gods. All of this happened in the Cold Age, so called because there was no heat in Aels, and soon there was no life beyond the energetic life form of [Lumens] (species: 85545f09-aad6-42ed-9b58-010e7d9438af).

The War Between Light and Darkness and the Dawn War

During the divine conflicts known as the War between Light and Darkness and the War of the Dawn, Nuria did not position herself in any moment, remaining neutral and out of the fights. In the latter case, however, she participated in the final decision on the fate of the evil goddess Hadassah.   The goddess of justice, together with Elysa, Limbo, and Nirvana, decided to remove the sister from her dominion over the darkness, transferring it to the newly arrived goddess Ursula, daughter of Mazdrael and Rhena. Hadassah was declared the goddess of evil and was condemned to spend eternity imprisoned and weakened.   In a ritual performed in the depths of Hades, the four goddesses bombarded the evil sister with their purest essences. The energy of the four sisters in contact with the power of Hadassah's resistance caused a viscous liquid of undefined color to drip. This substance gave shape to Myone, the magic goddess, who emerged in the form of a newborn child. The evil sister, now weakened, has been banished to an outside plan, where she remains to this day.

Myone's Tutoress

The four sisters, seeing Nuria's little involvement with the conflicts, entrusted her with tutoring about the newborn Myone. They all felt their power that, even as young, would be able to surpass the Five Sisters together. A god of justice, fearing what his other sisters would do to the poor child, he decided to accept the tutoring, thus becoming the godmother of the magic goddess.   Nuria taught everything he had known since its inception, about the forms of energy, life, conflict, and power over Aels. Myone proved to be an excellent apprentice and grew very rapidly, thanks to the teachings of her tutoress. However, it presented some dissimilarities when compared to the other deities.   Even after, already surpassing her guardian in power, the magic goddess still shows respect for the decisions of her godmother, always obeying her requests regardless of her will.
