Zorythis

Zorythis, once known as Zorythis the Eternal, was the queen of dragons, renowned for her wisdom and power. However, she has fallen into madness and her flesh rots like all other dragons before her. Her regal yet haunting name reflects both her former nobility and her current tragic state. Her purple-streaked, rotting flesh leads many to believe she is already dead and merely a walking omen of death.

In the Age of Splendor, before the Veilbinding, Zorythis was revered as the most magnificent of dragonkind. Her scales shimmered with iridescent silver hues that seemed to capture starlight, and her wisdom was sought by the most powerful rulers of all races. Ancient texts speak of her vast knowledge, and of the councils she would hold with the wisest of the Nytherians and the most skilled mages. Some legends claim she was instrumental in teaching the first arcane secrets to mortals. Another part of her legend is her undying friendship with the fairy Lyrielle, the two werew often said to be inseperable and extremely loyal to one another.

As the Harbinger of Ruin, Zorythis is feared as an omen of destruction. Her appearance is a sign of impending doom, and her presence is a harbinger of chaos. She wanders the land, spreading despair and destruction wherever she goes. Villages that catch a glimpse of her shadow passing overhead are known to fall into misfortune within days. Crops wither, water sources become tainted, and strange illnesses afflict the inhabitants.

Lyra Blackwood believes that deep within her madness, fragments of Zorythis's true self remain. In rare moments of lucidity, she has been observed contemplating ancient ruins or staring into the night sky as if searching for something lost. She believes that if her curse could somehow be broken, the knowledge she possesses about the world before the Veilbinding could reveal truths that the Fatebound desperatew

Adventurers who have survived encounters with the dragon report that she sometimes speaks in riddles and prophecies that make little sense in the moment but later prove to have profound meaning. Whether these are remnants of her former wisdom or simply the ravings of a broken mind remains a mystery that few are brave enough to investigate closely.
