Unlike his fellow generals who command vast armies or religious orders, Freyer's forces are relatively few in number but unmatched in specialized skills and deniability. His weathered face, partially concealed beneath a hood in even the most secure settings, bears intricate ritualistic scarring that marks him as a member of a warrior tradition predating even the empire's founding.
Freyer commands the Umbral Covenant, an elite force of operatives specializing in assassination, sabotage, and covert operations. These are not common spies or scouts but highly trained killers whose abilities blend martial training with forbidden techniques that grant them capabilities beyond ordinary Humans. They move through shadows as if they were physical pathways, scale sheer surfaces without equipment, and strike with weapons treated with toxins that leave no trace in the victim's system. When imperial armies march openly toward a target, Freyer's agents have typically already been operating behind enemy lines for months.
