Myrris
(a.k.a. The Dawnmother)
Myrris appears as a woman of fluid ethnicity, her features subtly changing to reflect those who gaze upon her—a manifestation of her universal compassion. Her skin radiates a gentle golden light like the first rays of dawn, and her eyes shift between amber and soft gold depending on her mood. Long, flowing hair cascades down her back in waves that seem to capture sunlight, appearing to float gently as if underwater. She typically wears simple but elegant robes of white and gold that seem to flow like liquid light around her form. In most depictions, Myrris extends one hand in blessing while the other cradles a white dove. Small points of light often hover around her head like a corona, and plants are shown blooming at her feet wherever she walks.
The worship of Myrris centers around compassion and healing. Her followers include healers, midwives, farmers, and those who've been healed from grave illnesses or injuries. Daily devotions include greeting the dawn with prayers and small offerings of fresh water in shallow bowls to reflect the sun. Healing rituals involve the laying on of hands while invoking Myrris's blessing, often accompanied by herbal remedies grown in temple gardens. During Myrrias, communities conduct blessing ceremonies for fields before planting, and expectant mothers receive special blessings for safe deliveries.
Temples to Myrris are designed to capture and celebrate light, featuring large eastern-facing windows, skylights, and polished reflective surfaces that create dazzling displays of sunshine throughout the day. Many are built with healing in mind, containing herb gardens, rooms for the sick, and pools of blessed water. Unlike the imposing structures of Vareth, Myrris's temples are welcoming, with open courtyards and accessible designs. Shrines to Myrris also appear at crossroads, near springs, and in village squares, typically consisting of a small statue or relief carving surrounded by fresh flowers and bowls for offerings. These shrines serve as places for travelers to pray for protection, mothers to seek blessings, and the sick to petition for healing.
