Dwarves
Dwarves ("Children of Stone and Starlight")
Unlike the stout, mountain-dwelling people of other worlds, the dwarves of Aeloria are as much creatures of magic as they are of stone. Descended from the fey, their ancient ancestors shaped the world’s deepest caverns and tallest peaks, their magic weaving life into the very bones of the land. Their fey heritage sets them apart from other dwarves.
Shorter and broader than humans, dwarves that are closer to their fey heritage possess intricately patterned skin—natural markings that resemble veins of silver, gold, or gemstone beneath the surface. These marks glow faintly when channeling magic, a remnant of their fey lineage. Though long-lived, dwarves are not immortal, and their deep connection to the earth and ley lines makes them sensitive to the world's shifting magic.
Dwarves value craftsmanship, honor, and kinship above all else. The greatest of their artisans are said to imbue the very spirit of Aeloria into their creations, forging relics that last millennia. Though they once had great kingdoms, many were lost in the Sundering, and today, dwarves are scattered, their once-proud halls reduced to isolated strongholds.
