The Lights of Azariel {Legacy} (uh-ZAHR-ee-ehl)
Lightbringer, Hopebearer, Redemption
Long, long ago, in the eve of the universe and it's first ever dawns, there existed a goddess known as Azariel; the god of good, a mirror reflection of the Dark God, and It's total opposite.
Alas, Azariel is no more. At least, not as we knew her.
The Lights of Azariel are a pantheon of demigods; they are the individual fragments of Azariel, who split herself intentionally so as to reach more people across the world. Hope, Joy, Love, Valor: there are many Lights, and each is a unique, almost alien entity full of divine power and wisdom.
Followers of Azariel usually flock to a Light of their choice wherever they can be found, seeking protection, advice, and teachings, and generally treating them as if they were gods themselves. The Lights, however, are usually humble and subtle, traveling to where they are needed and staying only as long as they aren't needed more somewhere else.
Due to the nature of the Lights of Azariel, a varying amount of them can be found in the world at a time, and all of different types, abilities and backgrounds. Maybe one of them is falling out of favor and has begun to slowly disappear? Maybe there's one taking a darker path in the pursuit of the eradication of evil? Maybe yet another has been sealed away for a long, long time, and has been changed forever by their isolation?
Seeing as the Lights are what remains of the god of good in Aelladore, this religion is one the most prominent for paladins, clerics, heroes, and champions who wish to follow a path of good and balance for the universe. Each Light is technically a sect of the same religion, representing vastly different aspects of the same core ideal, and there can be a varying level of connection or even trust between these groups.
