Construction beginning/end
Uda, the younger son, took a particular liking to this part of the island. He established his home in a settlement called Shee, later known as the Dock of Shee, or the Ruined Docks. In addition to claiming the Desert of Seeth, in the days of peace, Uda summoned his strength and cunning to oversee the raising of a massive Obelisk, a monument that pierced the heavens as if to commune with the stars. Hewn from the ancient stone of the Makse Mountains, for a hundred years and more, the stoneworkers toiled. They quarried the mountains, they shaped the great stones, and they raised them high, piece by piece, until the towering monument stood tall, glimmering in the light of dawn. It stood as a testament to the craft and ambition of Men, though whispers in later ages would call it a folly born of hubris. The structure was named the Obelisk of Faith. Its tip was adorned with the finest precious metals and the largest gemstones, and it soared an impressive four hundred imperial feet into the sky. Uda dedicated this landmark to the Supreme Beings—those yet unknown to Men but whose existence was keenly sensed by them.
