The Journal of Tendeth Daymark

3/12 683 3 E   I have been tracking the beast for a fortnight it had evaded me at the Halls of Galor, but not before leaving yet another lass dead in the streets. This is the sixth young women the beast has feed on in 2 weeks. It is strange for a Vampire to feed so often. Perhaps it traves in a pack, with its spawn at its beck and call.   3/14   I have compiled the evidence and can determine the beast is, in fact, a True Vampire. The bits left on the victim's neck show that the cuspids and lateral incisor were inlarged and lower incisor jagged. With the presence of the 4th molar line, I can estimate the age ranging from 800 to 1200 years of age. The victims died slowly, It left the victim alive until it had its fill. This has been a pattern trough all seven victims. This is an experienced hunter only further verifying its age.   3/16   It is doubtful at this point that this vampire has many spawn traveling in its company. All bit marks are nearly identical, all victims are young women with long red hair. It has a type it would seem. Those who knew the victims would not speak on the morals of girls, but all unmarried. One could assume they are virgins. I believe these deaths are more recreational than anything else. No vampire needs to feed this often and with such specific tastes. It is either killing for the sport or has an addition to account for.   3/27   Ten days worth of tracking has brought me to Where Heaven Meets Sky. In the time it took me to get this far five more dead. By Omir, it is becoming braver. I found the most recent victim myself. She lay face down outside of the inn for all to see. He knows I'm here and wants to play it would seem. 3/30   To the southern point of the valley, I tracked it. Its nest hides in plain sight. It camps along with three others all of which appear to be under its influence. Ths sky looks like rain I'll wait till it comes to make my move.   3/31   It's two spawn lay dead by my bow. Both are withered and not more than flesh and bone. It would seem to have denied them the act of feeding. It as well as the last spawn fleed during the battle. It, however, left behind quite a few belongings I can use them.   4/5   The death of its last servant will feed the fire of anger, maybe draw it out. I tracked it a town over, the spawn was in the tavern speaking with a young barmaid with red hair. I kindly proceded to end its life first chance I got. Now we wait.   4/12   Every one of its kind is different. I found it camping by the entrance of the valley. It didn't make it easy but I was able to fight it back bring it near death till it vanished into the mist. Likely it's coffin was not too far. I plunged the stake into its chest before it could react. It's done finally.

Found as part of an old journal. The leather-bound book is worn and has several pages coated in dried blood.
