The Great Expansion

The Great Expansion was a period of history defined by large numbers of elven ships landing on the cost of the Hellasin Empire and beyond. Once the ships hit land the elves aboard began to build their homes on that very land. The Great Expectation was a continual event that lasted for over 500 years, starting with a single ship from the east, carrying a majority of women and small children. The ship would come to be called by future elves i'malihen which translates roughly into common as 'The Harbinger'. The Story of the elves that first came to the west was immortalized in the Prose Holi , written by an elven scribe named Sione Holi 230 years after the voyage. It is assumed that he came west abord i'malihen but there is no historical proof of it, he could have arrived in the second or third wave of migration. The i'malihen landed on the eastern coast of modern day Lubreth. The exact location has been lost in the sands of time, it is also unknown how large the settlement was at its prime. The waves of ships that would come over the course of The Great Expansion would land along the entire eastern coast of the known world. Elven settlements would begin dotting the beaches and banks of the newly formed human kingdoms. Tension would grow from this, the humans saw the fast-growing settlements as competition for food and resources. They were all but claiming the coastline and cutting off the sea to and in the way of human expansion. It is important to note that at this time it was the early days of the Hellasin Empire. Emperor Ingbert Nothnagel had made his intentions of expanding south across the Aelik Strait to the fertile soil and mineral-rich hills of modern-day @londe. To accomplish this he would need the coast to launch his invasion. Meanwhile the Itrzain Church that had been founded 200 years prior, had been growing in power in the north. One of their many teachings was against the elven settlements. It didn't matter to them that the migration from the east had all but stopped. The Church believed that it was the elves arrival that pushed the gods from them. The Empire and Church would join forces, especially becoming one unit that would push the elves back. This would be an alliance that would shape the world to its current form and end The Great Expansion Westward.
