Marquess
The leader of the large cities of The Kingdom of Lubreth.
Appointment
To hold this position one must be chosen by the High King of Lubreth, a noble title is not required.
Duties
The Marquess must uphold the office by seeing to the protection and well being of the people of their city.
The Marquess must ensure that taxes are paid by all residents.
The Marquess must keep trade relations in a suitable state while in office.
Grounds for Removal/Dismissal
The case of dismissals must be taken to the High King in the capital where the accuser will make a case for the Marquess to be taken out of office. If the accuser does not make a successful argument the accuser could then themselves be put on trial in the court of the High King to evaluate the motives behind there accusation.
