The Way of the Coin

Unlike most of the other guilds available, the Wavefarer Syndicate is one devoted to fair trade and mutual partnership amongst merchants. Their general philosophy is that peace can be achieved much easier with a smooth tongue and a ready purse. Their wandering merchant caravans focus primarily on making lasting and beneficial networks of trade with distant locations, either via wagon or boat, and continuing to nurture those until they bear fruit.

Traders by nature, the Wavefarer Syndicate is always keeping an eye on market trends and determining how best to turn a profit. This means they have trained themselves to be on the lookout for signs of change so that they can take immediate action. In addition, the Wavefarer Syndicate is renowned as the best cartographers and mapmakers in the world, and their work is often sought after at a premium cost.

Actor

Skilled at mimicry and dramatics, you gain the following benefits:
  • Increase your Charisma score by 1, to a maximum of 20.
  • You have Advantage on Charisma (Deception) and Charisma (Performance) checks when trying to pass yourself off as a different person.
  • You can mimic the speech of another person or the sounds made by other creatures. You must have heard the person speaking, or heard the creature make the sound, for at least 1 minute. A successful Wisdom (Insight) check contested by your Charisma (Deception) check allows a listener to determine that the effect is faked.
 

Skilled

You gain proficiency in any combination of three skills or tools of your choice.  

Connoisseur

  You have gained the ability to use your words to persuade others to offer you more amenable pricing. When trying to discuss a price, you make a Persuasion check to request requests for discounts on purchased goods or higher payments on sold goods. The seller/buyer must make a Charisma Save (+3) with Disadvantage in contesting your Persuasion roll.
  • If the Player fails the contest or ties: The price remains static.
  • If the Player wins the contest by 1-5: The Player receives a 5% discount (buying) or markup (selling)
  • If the Player wins the contest by 6-10: The price receives a 10% discount (buying) or markup (selling)
  • If the Player wins the contest by 11-15: The price receives a 15% discount (buying) or markup (selling)
  • If the Player wins the contest by 16+: The price receives a 20% discount (buying) or markup (selling)
 

Land Vehicle Proficiency

You have gained proficiency with modes of travel across land, providing the following benefits:
  • Proficiency with vehicles grants the knowledge needed to handle vehicles of that type, along with knowledge of how to repair and maintain them.
  • When you inspect a vehicle for clues or hidden information, your proficiency aids you in noticing things that others might miss (Investigation/Perception)
  • When you study a magic vehicle, this tool proficiency aids you in uncovering lore or determining how the vehicle operates (Arcana)
  • Vehicle Handling. When piloting a vehicle, you can apply your proficiency bonus to the vehicle’s AC and saving throws.
 

Water Vehicle Proficiency

You have gained proficiency with modes of travel across water, providing the following benefits:

Observant

Quick to notice details of your environment, you gain the following benefits:
  • Increase your Intelligence or Wisdom score by 1, to a maximum of 20.
  • If you can see a creature's mouth while it is speaking a language you understand, you can interpret what it's saying by reading its lips.
  • You have a +5 bonus to your passive Wisdom (Perception) and passive Intelligence (Investigation) scores.
