A lone cry summons an echo. In a song of the wind, one voice becomes two. Then, hearts join as one, keeping the shades and the fears at bay when night falls. A Dreamer speaks a name, another is reminded they exist still. That is all there is, together they are.
Many groups of likeminded individuals have formed all over Krogiath and all all over Aerdrelon through the years. Be they guilds, secret societies, millitary organizations, communes or small communities built around a common hobby, these Circles are at the heart of many lives. No matter their size, they all keep, in their own ways, their respective communities at bay from the looming darkness, lurking, creeping around every corner.
Probably one of if not the most important guild of Krogiath is the Mapmakers. Scattered across the entire continent, its members are explorers, sailors, archeologists, historians and scholars dedicating their lives to uncovering all the mysteries of Aedrelon. Some brave the seas to discover new lands beyond the horizon, others delve deep under the earth to find lost treasures, but all are guided an insatiable Longing for adventure and knowledge.
Despite all the discoveries and all the progress they brought forward, the Mapmakers are never satisfied. Many of them find themselves leaving everything behind to find the source of their Longing, following their instincts to someplace they feel like only they can reach.
The Imperial Conclave of Arts and Arcanas
The Imperial Conclave of Arts and Arcanas is a public institution in charge of many schools and universities across Meilthaor. Dedicated to teaching Art to some fortunate students, the organization also act as a network of research facilities for scholars. The libraries of the Imperial Conclave are some of the most well guarded treasures in all of Krogiath and house books, maps and drawings dating back hundreds to thousands of years before the birth of the Empire itself.
One can only become a member of the Imperial Conclave by being related by blood to a current member, being recommended by three other current members, or receiving a Letter of Purpose from the Emperor himself.
The Dog Ring
The Dog Ring is a mercenary organization mostly active in the Neighboring States. They have outposts in many cities, making them the most well known and most trusted band of swords-for-hire in the region. Anyone is welcome to join the ranks of the Ring as long as they are willing to put their lives in the line to help the general population of the continent. Indeed, the goal of the Dog Ring is, in exchange for a small reward, to fulfill requests sent in by anyone in the community.
Be it getting a cat down from a tree, finding an old family heirloom or culling the local rat population, the Dogs are here to help.
The Dreaming Crosses
The Dreaming Crosses are a group of five schools of Exorcism scattered across Krogiath. Practionners of each of these schools act independantly and don't respond to any sort of hirarchy. However, a symposium is organized once a year for exorcists of the five schools to meet, share their findings and put in writing the discoveries made throughout the year.
To become part of the Dreaming Crosses, one simply has to be taught a school of Exorcism from a master and present themselves in the next symposium. Each years, tens of new exorcists join the ranks of the organization.
The Hunter's Copse
The Hunter's Copse is a small secret group of elite Hunters dedicated to finding, investigating and containing the thousand Eidolons currently living on Aedrelon. The few non-Hunter people who know of the Copse's existence think it to be some sort of secret monster hunting group trying to protect the population from creatures and phenomenons threatening the peace of Krogiath. The Hunters have eyes and ears everywhere, and they use their influence on every single sphere of power of Krogiath to further their objective.
Not much is known about the Hunters themselves, and even less about the mysterious founder of the organization, let alone their real motives.
