Chamanism
Listen to the wolves holwing, listen to the echoes of the past. Listen to the light of the sun, listen to the shadows that we cast.
The beasts without a tongue speak and sing a chorus of lives. They hear, they understand. There is much to learn from the words of those without a voice, witness to eternities of a time before Dreamers awoke.
Chamanism is a very ancient Arcana that lets its users communicate with animals and plants around them. This communication is purely based in Aer : the Artist does not learn any language and does not have to actually utter any word for it to function. To use Chamanism, the Artist simply needs to get in contact with another being, animal or vegetal. Words and thoughts are then exchanged freely just as one would by speaking normally.
Chamanists also are able to share small fragments of their Aer to form bonds with animals and plants. As opposed to Summoning, the other party here doesn't need to agree to this bond, it is something the Chamanist can create on their own. A Chamanist can always intuite the approximate distance that seperates them from any bonded creature as well as estimate its direction. This bond naturally disappears after a few days, so the Artists needs to regularly share their Aer if they want it to keep existing.
If a bond is strong enough and maintained for a long enough period of time, the Artist may then Resonnate with a bonded being. While in Resonance, the animal or vegetal fuses with the Chamanist and bestows upon them a fraction of their own powers while feeding on their Aer. The Resonance can last for a few minutes before the toll on both beings becomes too much to bear.
Chamanism has always been a big part of even the earlist Karas societies, to the point that it became customary to teach it to evey single kid in the community. This deep rooted usage of the Arcana shaped theses societies to the point that most tribes were build around this cooperation and accomodated for every species within : tools engineered to fit paws or talons were found in the oldest sites around the continent. Elders also tell of a time when eating any living being was seen as deeply taboo, and one should only feed off of gifts of the ground such as fruits and vegetables.
With the rapid modernization of Krogiath, however, this tradition declined and almost no Karas tribe today still upholds it. Chamanism is still a fairly popular field of study in the most rural parts of Krogiath.
