Zazelthul, God of Monsters

Zazelthul, God of Monsters, has been a powerful entity since the creation of the cosmos in the Shattering. He is deified by evil creatures seeking utter destruction, who revere him as the Baleful Behemoth. He is the Godking of Nihil and rules over all of the domains within it.

Tenets of Faith

Organized worship of Zazelthul, Godking of Nihil and master of all demons, is not particularly popular in Aedelor. Those corrupted by his will, or serving it voluntarily, are more likely to convene in small, varied cults rather than large, organized faiths. These cults are numerous, though, as demons work tirelessly to corrupt mortals and bend them towards evil and destruction.   Zazelthul is the most depraved of all, demanding masochistic acts of his followers and "rewarding" them with grisly, monstrous boons in return. Those who seek his most powerful boons must mutilate their own bodies in ways most people would find disturbing, such as blinding themselves or amputating limbs, which Zazelthul rewards by granting sight without eyes or monstrous replacement limbs, for example.   At a certain point, those corrupted or willfully submitting to demon influence cease being mortals and become demons themselves, powered by void energies and not by a soul, which has been utterly destroyed in the process.

Personal history

A demon of great power and a lust for destruction that nearly matches Havastu, Zazelthul is a name feared by many in Aedelor and the ultimate villain in many stories. Among all the evil entities that exist in the cosmos, Zazelthul stands out as especially dangerous as a being who will cross any line or pursue any extreme to attain his goals. Zazelthul uses the power of those in his court to seek an end to all of existence and creates demons and other monsters to carry out his will in Aedelor. Although few mortals actively deify him, Zazelthul is a master of corruption and sometimes uses mortal beings as vessels for his latest monstrous invention.
