The peoples of Aedar begin creating and shaping their cultures, independent of the direct influence of Deities.

While civilizations and cities existed during the Era of Demiurge, most cultures and societies as we know them today started their roots during the Era of Esoterica. For example, while elves always had a talent for artistry and magic, it wasn't until this era that they truly began to build their entire society around those aspects.   It is believed that these cultures only began now due to the absence of the Deities. Once the Divine Barrier was placed, mortalkind was truly alone in this realm. Thus, they began being more independent, and creating something for themselves rather than solely relying on the Deities that once walked with them.   The only civilization to have truly withstood the test of time is the city of Zimytus. This civilization has stood tall since the Era of Demiurge, and remains to stand to the modern day.
