Introduction of Nexuses and Planar Overlays

New worldwide phenomena appear, later classified as Ley Lines, Nexuses, and Planar Overlays.

Following the global disaster of The Desolation, new magical phenomena began to appear, with many unsure as to why. The first were Ley Lines, strands of raw magical essence that weave throughout the world similarly to rivers. The appearance of a Ley Line is an important ordeal, as these sources of magic can fuel all sorts of spells and effects.   A Nexus is when 2 or more Ley Lines cross each other, creating a singular point of massive magical power. Not many Nexuses have been recorded to exist, so when one is found, plenty find reason to journey out to see it themselves.   Finally there are Planar Overlays. This is best described as the different planes of the multiverse bleeding onto the Material Realm. Many theorize as to how this is possible. Perhaps the energy required to keep the Realm together after The Desolation let the other realms begin to poke holes through the fabric of reality. Or perhaps some old experiments of Aegisin went awry and began to meld our realm with others. Regardless, these Overlays have changed the societies that live in them, and seem to be permanent fixtures of the land.
