Tiamat the Wyrm Tyrant is the sacrilege goddess of greed, envy, and vengeance. She is characterized as a powerful figure with an unshakable lust for wealth. Not just monetary wealth, but also wealth in influence and wealth in favors. She is also known as the pettiest of Deities, able to keep a grudge for the longest time and to take her vengeance without any warning or mercy.
Tiamat is infamously depicted as a gargantuan five headed dragon. Each head is the color and shape associated with a type of chromatic dragon. Red, blue, green, white, and black draconic heads tower over all creatures, making her the undisputed goddess of chromatic dragons.
Temples to the Wyrm Tyrant can range widely in sizes. A small dragonborn clan could keep a tent in their encampment specifically made to honor Tiamat, where they drop off their most precious relics from the recent conflicts. On the other hand, a ancient red dragon can amass mountain sized hoards of gold, all for its own vanity and for the vanity of the goddess who gave them their power. Temples to Tiamat of such size typically have many people working, be it willing or not, to arrange and collect even more riches. Even if a temple of this size is recorded by nearby settlements, it is unlikely that they raid said temple from fear of the Wyrm Tyrant's wrath.
Commandments of the Wyrm Tyrant
- Amass wealth, but spend little. The gold—and the power that comes with it—is sufficient reward in itself.
- Do not forgive nor forget an indignity to yourself. Let no affront go unpunished.
- Take what you covet. Those without the strength to defend their dominion are not worthy of it.
