The Acentian Soldier

Soon after The Kingdom of Acentia was formed it wanted to seperate itself from its past as an inslaved people. Part of this process was to introduce a standard livery across the whole kingdom, this would consist of a green background with red trim and a white stallion, beyond these specifications however the soldier could customize his livery including adding his house crest. This new system of standard livery would prove difficult to fund and enforce so it wasn't fully implemented until around the early 1480s. most soldiers of the mid to late 15th century wore mostly padded gambesons and chainmail with limited plate on top, while more rich soldiers and people of higher ranking could afford full plate with the "Salet" hemet being extremely popular. this uniform continued well into the 16th century, though the style of armor and clothing changed slightly. With the rise of the Arquebus came new military fashion.   Vibrant colors and extravagant hats with lots of feathers quickly became the norm for the 16th century. With this, Flags became the main way of recognition on the battlefield with each general typically having his own colors aswell as many flags of the kingdom and different feifs that the soldiers may have been from. This era of military fashion continued until around the middle of The Grand war of Kings when standard uniforms started to appear typically based on the colors of the general that commanded or raised the regiment. This practice however did not become the norm until about 1680. By aroubd 1710 new military Fashion was on the rise, the Tri-corn and Bi-corn were becoming popular and fancier uniforms with standardized paterns became commonplace.
(above: Several 1760s Regiments) The musket was quickly gaining populatity over the pike though still popular. The practice of indevidual regiments having their own uniforms was still the norm. When the chivalric wars began this was still the most popular style however by the end of the war the Acentian military had begun to standardize its military uniforms and by 1780 every Acentian infantryman was wearing a white uniform with Green Facings and a black Tri-corn, black Leather accoutrements, and canvas gaiters. Soldiers also carried a rucksack made of Tared canvas and a bedroll across the chest. (below)
